ELAINE R. AXELROD, PhD
LIFE  JOURNEY PRACTICE

Dr. Axelrod is one of few clinicians in Philadelphia who is both a licensed psychologist and a shamanic practitioner.  Solidly grounded in a psychodynamic orientation, she combines this knowledge with her years of spiritual training.  This integrated approach allows her to deliver her expertise and intuition in an open-hearted and opened-minded way.

Elaine began working in shamanism in 1992 when she was fortunate to meet Sandra Ingerman. She has studied with Ingerman for many years and completed the FSS Three Year Program in 2004.  Elaine has traveled to Brazil to meet John of God and has studied with Carolyn Myss, Ph.D., Christine Page, M.D., and Brian Weiss, M.D., among others. She has recently completed advanced work in the Caretaker for the Earth Apprenticeship Program with Ana Laramendi.

Guided by spirit allies, Elaine’s work includes:

  • soul retrieval
  • extraction
  • soul escorting/psychopomp
  • energy healing to clear the luminous body
  • power animal retrieval
  • word doctoring
  • singing journeys
  • healing of place
  • creating personal rituals

Dr. Axelrod’s practice serves a variety of individuals, including those who seek a skillful shamanic practitioner, others who appreciate a psychologist who is spiritually attuned, and some who work best with an integrated approach.
